Every jacket leaves the workshop - as it did then - in a plain cardboard box of natural materials.
Hardly any other garment radiates as much adventure, function and understated elegance as the flying jackets from the golden age of piston-engine aircraft.
Every Mitchell flying jacket is built by hand, with great attention to detail, craftsmanship and the finest materials. For our jackets we use only the best cow, goat and sheep hides, tanned in a semi-chrome process - just as in the 1940s. In an elaborate process of Mitchell Mfg.’s own, the leather is made extra soft, so the jackets offer the greatest possible comfort and mould themselves to the wearer.
Every material - zips, for instance - we have reproduced, or, where the companies still exist, made exclusively for us. Linings, snap fasteners and knits have the correct dimensions, weight and weave, exactly as in the original. Years of research and the expertise of 25 years in making and selling flying jackets come together in our products.
